2 Peter Chapter 1
2 Peter 1:4
4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.(KJV)
Are these "exceeding great and precious promises" the "Testimony of Jesus Christ"?
2 Peter 1:16
16For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.(KJV)
I wonder which fables he was referring to here or if this was just a generic reference to other religions and beliefs.
2 Peter 1:17
17For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (KJV)

2 Peter 1:19
19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:(KJV)
..'the day star arise in your hearts'?
2 Peter Chapter 2
2 Peter 2:1
1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.(KJV)
2 Peter 2:4
"4For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;" (KJV)
This is the only place in scripture where the word Tartaros appears!
2 Peter 3:8
"8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." (KJV)
Here, Peter is saying 1 day = 1 thousand years. Peter is also stressing the importance of knowing this information.
2 Peter 3:10
"10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up" (KJV)

"16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." (KJV)
So much for the pleasure seeker wanting to protect his or her joy.
