Luke 1:5
5THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. (KJV)
John the Baptist's parents are identified.
This is a clue to the birth date of the Messiah.
Luke 1:15
15For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.(KJV)
This could be a Nazarite vow.

'This took place as a first registration while Quirinius was governing Syria.'
Luke 2:3
"3And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city." (KJV)
'And all were going to be registered, each one to his own city.'

"5To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child." (KJV)
'to be registered with Miryam, who was engaged to him - being pregnant.'
Luke 2:8

This is evidence that the time was NOT the Greco-Roman 12th month as that would have been the cold and rainy season and the shepherds would NOT have been abiding in the field tending the sheep.

"12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. " (KJV)

"13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying," (KJV)
A whole bunch of angels! Did a portal open?

"21And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb." (KJV)
This would have been on the day of atonement. The Messiah was circumcised.

The Messiah's parents observed TORAH.
Luke doesn't refer to this as the TORAH or Moses but rather the TORAH of YHWH.

The call of the first disciples

He read in the synagogue on the Sabbath. It was His custom.

The rest of the passage reads '...and the day of vegeance of our God;...'

Here YAHSHUA is starting the countdown to the day of vengeance.

27And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian. (KJV)
I wonder why there was so much leprecy in Israel at this time.

They left all the had and followed YAHSHUA.

"32I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. " (KJV)
The righteous are not sinners and sinners are not righteous.
Luke Chapter 6
Luke 6:1
1And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.(KJV)
YAHSHUA was out of the house on the Sabbath.
Does this mean it is okay to travel on the Sabbath?
Luke 6:3-4
3And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; (KJV)
4How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
The bread mentioned was the shewbread from the priests. However, it was the day old shew bread that the priests had just replaced with fresh bread. The priests said they could only give it to David and his men if they had not been with a woman. David confirmed that he and his men had not been with a woman for about 3 days so the priests gave them the bread to eat. This brings up two (2) questions:
- Does a man become unclean when he has been with a woman?
- Can the priests give some of their alloted portion to the hungry AFTER it has served its purpose in the temple?
Luke 6:5
5And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.(KJV)
This does not nullify the Sabbath but rather means that YAHSHUA understands what honoring the Sabbath means.
Luke 6:6
6And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.(KJV)
He taught in the synagogue on the Sabbath.

42Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.(KJV)
Translation Difference
'"Or how are you able to say to yourbrother, 'Brother, let me take out the splinter that is in your eye,' not seeing the plank in your own eye? Hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to take out the splinter that is in your brother's eye.'(The ISR Scriptures)
First take the beam out of your eye and then you can help your brother remove the speck from his eye.

These rods seemed to represent headship of the tribes.

By saying 'rather', Jesus is clearly saying that it is MORE important to hear and keep the word of God, than it is to worship or praise his mother.

'THE' eye? Is the Messiah referring to the third eye or the pineal gland?

Is this referring to the people that have rejected HIS offer of salvation?

Yahshua is clearly stating that YHWH must be the MOST important thing in a disciples life, even more important than their own life.

When Jesus say's 'take heed to yourselves...' does he mean this applies only to fellow believers or all mankind?

"Within" is translated from entos, used only twice in the New Testament. Its primary meaning is "inside," as it is rendered in Matthew 23:26: "Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also." However, when used in conjunction with a plural noun, entos means "among" or "in the midst of." In Luke 17:21, entos is used with "you," and from the context, we can see that Jesus was speaking to a crowd of Pharisees, who had come to question Him about the Kingdom of God (verse 20). "You," then, is plural. "The kingdom of God is among you" is best.
Most modern translations have recognized this grammatical error and translate entos as "among" or "in the midst of." Some texts, like the New King James and the New International versions, persist in using "within," though they note in the margin that "among" is an alternative.
Even without this technical knowledge of Greek, we could have easily understood that "within" is a poor and misleading translation. Christ was answering a question posed by the Pharisees, and He replied directly to them: "He answered them and said, . . . 'For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.'" But how could the Kingdom of God be within His most bitter enemies? How many times did He reveal them to be hypocritical and misleading the people? Theologically, it is quite impossible to think that His Kingdom would be in the Pharisees.
It is only after He had made this remark that He turned to His disciples (verse 22) and explained what He meant. The subject of the entire section (verses 20-37) is stated most explicitly in verse 30: "Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed." All along, He had been explaining His second coming! When He returns, He will set up His Kingdom on earth (Zechariah 14:9).
If the Kingdom is still future, how could He say that "the kingdom of God is among you"? To answer this, we must return to the four common traits of a kingdom: a king, who rules by law over a number of subjects who live within a certain territory. The primary trait is that a kingdom must be ruled by a king; otherwise, the country has some other form of government. A king of any nation is the chief representative of that nation. And the King of the Kingdom of God is none other than the living Jesus Christ!
Pilate specifically asked Jesus, "'Are You a king then?' Jesus answered, 'You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth'" (John 18:37). So as the King of God's Kingdom, He could truly tell the Pharisees that the Kingdom of God was among them.

If the disciples had not been practicing Torah, they would have not been allowed in the temple. The priests would have driven them out.
