The Book of Philippians

Philippians 2:5

"5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:" (KJV)

Hebrew thinking

Philippians 2:6

"6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:" (KJV)

Does this verse support the concept that YAHUA and YAHUSHA are one in the same and that YAHUSHA is a manifestation of YAHUA?

Philippians 2:9

"9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:" (KJV)

The name above all others.

Philippians 3:5

'5Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;' (KJV)

Paul was a Benjamite.  The Benjamites still had an identity in the Messiah's day and age.  They had NOT been absorbed into the tribe of Judah, there was still distinctness.

Here Paul was referring to the oral law as the Pharisees believed the written and oral law had equal weight/authority.

Were Pharisees specially schooled in the oral law?

Philippians 3:6

'6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.' (KJV)

In verses 4-6, Paul is qualifying himself as a Hebrew of Hebrews, Pharisee of Pharisees.

'the righteousness which is in the law' was a reference to the Torah or 1st five books of the Bible.

He was saying that by any judgement of man, he was okay.

Philippians 3:7

'7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.' (KJV)

Paul is talking about being a Pharisee in this verse.  The Pharisee's held positions of power and prestige.

Philippians 4:1

"5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand." (KJV)

Translation Difference

Let your gentleness be known to all men.  The Master is near.

Philippians 4:6

"6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (KJV)

Translation Difference

Do not worry at all, but in every matter, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim.

Philippians 4:7

"7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (KJV)

Translation Difference

'And the peace of Elohim, which supasses all understanding, shall guard your hearts and minds through Messiah YHWSH-'

Philippians 4:8

"8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (KJV)

Translation Difference

For the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is clean whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is any uprightness and if there is any praise - think on these things.  (The ISR Scriptures)
