Version Information:
In 1604, King James I of England authorized that a new translation of the Bible into English be started. It was finished in 1611, just 85 years after the first translation of the New Testament into English appeared (Tyndale, 1526). The KJV is public domain in the United States.
Page History:
I began studying the Scriptures daily in 1994. I originaly created this page to document my progress in reading the Scriptures cover to cover. As I read, I noticed certain names kept coming up over and over again. It became apparent to me that these names were significant and so I started annotating them in this file. As time went on and my studies deepened I learned of the importance of peoples names and specifically the importance of names in the Hebrew culture. I decided to start defining the names of people and places mentioned in the Scriptures. About a year later, I was given a copy of the Strong's Expanded Exhaustive Concordance and it was a natural fit to add this information (albeit in condensed form) to my work on the page.
This page is a work in progress that I don't know if I will ever complete. As you read through this version of Scripture, you will find links to other books in Scripture. Most of the time, the links have a direct association with chronological events, other times the links will provide insight into the 'slang' words and sayings of that time.
I hope you find these pages as informative and helpful as I have.
