Exodus Chapter 1

Exodus 1:1-5

The names of the children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl are given.

Exodus 1:6

Joseph/Yosĕph and his brothers have died.

Exodus 1:8

Egypt gets a new Pharoah that didn't know Joseph/Yosĕph.

Exodus 1:9-14

The Pharoah becomes worried that the children of Israel would help an enemy if war breaks out because their numbers were so great. He starts treating them harshly.

Exodus 1:15-22

The Pharoah tries to kill the male children of Israel and control the population.

Exodus 1:20

"20Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty." (KJV)

YHWH seems to deal well with those that don't harm his people.

Exodus 1:21

"21And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses." (KJV)

YHWH deals well with those that fear him.

Exodus Chapter 2

Exodus 2:1

1And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.(KJV)

Exodus Chapter 3

Exodus 3:1

"1Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb." (KJV)

Moses/Mosheh's father in law was a priest of Midian.

Exodus 3:2

Mosheh and the burning bush.

Exodus 3:5

5And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.(KJV)

I wonder why you have to take your shoes off on sacred ground?
The priests also go into the holy place (temple) barefoot.
Is this a sandal covenant?

Exodus 3:6

"Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God." (KJV)

This verse is significant in that it indicates that the blessings and the covenant relationship has been passed down/on.

Exodus 3:13

'13And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?' (KJV)

Translation Difference

'13 And Mosheh said to Elohim, “See, when I come to the children of Yisra'el and say to them, 'The Elohim of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His Name?' what shall I say to them?”'(The ISR Scriptures)

YHWH tells Mosheh to use HIS name if front of the children of Israel.

Exodus 3:14

"14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." (KJV)

Translation Difference

'14 And Elohim said to Mosheh, “I am that which I am.” a And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Yisra'el, 'I am has sent me to you.' ”(The ISR Scriptures)

aThe Hebrew text reads: 'eyeh 'asher 'eyeh, the word 'eyeh being derived from hayah which means to be, to exist, but the Aramaic text here in v. 14 reads: ayah ashar ayah. This is not His Name, but it is an explanation that leads up to the revelation of His Name in v. 15, namely: YHWH .

YHWH reveals HIS name to Mosheh.

Exodus 3:15

"15And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.'" (KJV)

Translation Difference

'15 And Elohim said further to Mosheh, “Thus you are to say to the children of Yisra'el, YHWH Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Yitshaq, and the Elohim of Ya'aqob,has sent me to you. This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.''(The ISR Scriptures)

This is the verse where YHWH gives his name.
This is where YHWH declares HIS name is to be remembered forever.

Exodus 3:18

"18And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God." (KJV)

"Perhaps we would be led to believe that had this defiant sin not taken place (Numbers 14:26-34), the desert would not be a part of our collective consciousness. However, from the very beginning of the process of the Exodus, Moses is told that the desert, the wilderness, is the destination for the religious experience:"

Exodus Chapter 4

Exodus 4:21

'21And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.'(KJV)

Exodus 4:22

'22And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:'(KJV)

Translation Difference

'22 “And you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus said YHWH, “Yisra'el is My son, My firstborn,'(The ISR Scriptures)

YHWH instructs Moses to use HIS name in front of the pagan Pharaoh. This seems to negate the Jewish belief that HIS name is too holy to speak.

Exodus 4:23

'23And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.'(KJV)

Translation Difference

'23 so I say to you, let My son go to serve Me. But if you refuse to let him go, see, I am killing your son, your first-born.” ' ”'(The ISR Scriptures)

Exodus Chapter 5

Exodus 5:1

1And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.(KJV)

Mosheh and Aaron tell the Pharoah that YHWH wants him to let HIS people go so they can keep a festival to HIM in the wilderness.

What feast is being referred to in this verse?

Exodus 5:3

3And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.(KJV)

Mosheh and Aaron ask the pharoah to let them go or YHWH will punish them.

This verse makes it sound like they have a Torah at this point in time.

Exodus Chapter 6

Exodus 6:4

"And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers." (KJV)

The land of the Canaanite/Kena'anite's is detailed in Genesis 10:19

Exodus 6:9

"And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage." (KJV)

The children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl did NOT listen to the prophet.

Exodus 6:20

"20And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years." (KJV)

Amram/Amram lived to be 137 years old.

Exodus Chapter 7

Exodus 7:7

"7And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh." (KJV)

Moses/Mosheh was 80 years old and Aaron/Aharon was 83 years old.

Exodus Chapter 8

Exodus Chapter 9

Exodus 9:1-5

YHWH tells Moses/Mosheh to tell the pharoah to let His people go and that if he doesn't, YHWH will bring a pestilance on the livestock of the Egyptians but not the children of Israel.

Exodus 9:6-7

The day after Moses/Mosheh tells the pharoah to let His people go all the cattle of Egypt died but none of the cattle of the children of Israel died.

Exodus 9:7

Pharoah's heart was hardened and he did not let the people go.

Exodus 9:8-11

YHWH said to Moses/Mosheh and Aaron/Aharon to take ashes from the furnace and sprinkle it toward the heaven in front of Pharaoh. The dust causes boils to break out on man and beast. I think this only happened to the Egyptians.

Exodus 9:12

YHWH hardened Pharoah's heart.

Exodus 9:13

'13And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.' (KJV)

This is where YHWH said to speak HIS name to the Pharoah. This belies the claim by the pharisees/rabbis that HIS name is to holy to speak.

Exodus 9:13-16

Moses/Mosheh tells Pharoah's that if he doesn't let YHWH's people go, YHWH will smite the people with pestilence.

Exodus 9:15

'15For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.' (KJV)

What does it mean to be 'cut off from the earth'?

Exodus 9:16

'16And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.' (KJV)

HE wants HIS name declared throughout all the earth.

Exodus 9:20

'20He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:' (KJV)

These people would eventually become the mixed multitude.

Exodus 9:17-26

Moses/Mosheh tells Pharoah's that if he doesn't let YHWH's people go, YHWH will send hail and fire down from heaven. This plague did not affect the land of Goshen or the children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl.

Exodus 9:27-30

Pharoah's admits his sin and ask Moses/Mosheh to take away the fire and hail. Moses/Mosheh says he will but that he knows the Pharoah does not fear YHWH.

Exodus 9:31-32

References to the Abib/Aviv of the barley is made in these verses.

Exodus 9:33-35

Moses/Mosheh stops the storms but as soon as they stop the pharoah sinned, hardened his heart and refused to let the people go.

Exodus Chapter 10

Exodus 10:4

"4Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:" (KJV)

"21And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt." (KJV)

Three (3) days of darkness.

Exodus Chapter 11

Exodus 11:5

"5And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts." (KJV)

YHWH kills all the first born in the land of Egypt but does not harm the children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl

Exodus Chapter 12

Exodus 12

This chapter gives details about the Festival of Pĕsah (Passover) and the Festival of Matzot (Unleavened Bread)

Exodus 12:2

"2This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. " (KJV)

The first month of the year is???

Exodus 12:3

"3Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:" (KJV)

10th day of the 1st month, every year.

Exodus 12:6

"6And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening." (KJV)

After the sundown of the 13th day.

Exodus 12:11

"11And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover." (KJV)

The Feast is called the Pĕsah of YHWH.

I think this gets them ready to flee as soon as the pharoah releases them.

Exodus 12:14

"14And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever." (KJV)

The passover memorial feast.

The Festival is called the Pĕsah of YHWH.

The evening of the 14th day of the 1st month of every year.

It shall be an ordinance or an everlasting law.

Exodus 12:15

"15Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel." (KJV)

The feast of unleavened bread

The 15th through the 21st days of the 1st month of every year.

Exodus 12:16

"16And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you." (KJV)

The 1st and 7th days are holy convocations.

The only work to be done is that which is necessary to eat.

Exodus 12:17

"17And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever." (KJV)

This is a day to be guarded forever.

Exodus 12:18

"18In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even." (KJV)

It starts and stops in the evening. This seems to indicate that the evening is the start of the day.

Exodus 12:19

"19Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land." (KJV)

This is a full 7 day feast without leaven (yeast).

Exodus 12:22

"22And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning." (KJV)

The people were commanded to stay inside their homes until morning.

Exodus 12:23

23For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you." (KJV)

Was this the 'angel of death'?

Exodus 12:24

24And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever." (KJV)

Translation Difference

24 And you shall guard this word as a law for you and your sons, forever. (The ISR Scriptures)

This is a law forever.
Interesting that the KJV version translates it 'this thing' but the ISR version translates it 'this word'.

Exodus 12:25-27

25And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. (KJV)

Translation Difference

25 And it shall be, when you come to the land which YHWH gives you, as He promised, that you shall guard this service. (The ISR Scriptures)

You will keep this service even when you get to the promised land.

26And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? (KJV)

Translation Difference

26 And it shall be, when your children say to you, 'What does this service mean to you? (The ISR Scriptures)

It is prophesied that your children will ask you the meaning of this service.

27That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped. (KJV)

Translation Difference

27 then you shall say, 'It is the Passover offering of YHWH, who passed over the houses of the children of Yisra'el in Mitsrayim when He smote the Mitsrites and delivered our households.' And the people bowed their heads and did obeisance. (The ISR Scriptures)

You will teach the meaning of this service to your children.

Interesting to note that when we are performing this rememberence, we are claiming to be part of 'the houses of the children of Yisra'el'.
I would like to research this further as it would be another entry point for non-Hebrews today besides Genesis chapter 48.

HE could be maintaining tribal/stranger/sojorner seperation at this point by using 'houses of the children of Yisra'el' to describe all twelve tribes (and the strangers and sojorners with them) and the words, 'our households' to make it tribal specific and personal. For consideration, while I think a Benjamite would easily consider himself among 'the houses of the children of Yisra'el', I am not sure he would associate the 'households of Judah' with the 'households of Benjamin' or any of the other tribe.

Exodus 12:29

"29And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle." (KJV)

At midnight YHWH killed all the first born. Even those in the dungeon. Even the first born of the cattle.

How was he able to tell, who was the first born?

Exodus 12:35

"35And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:" (KJV)

If you are leaving forever, how do you borrow something?

Exodus 12:38

"38And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle." (KJV)

A mixed multitude left with the children of Yisra'ĕl.

Exodus 12:41

"41And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt." (KJV)

The children of Yisra'ĕl had been in Mitsrayim for 430 years.

Why is this day so significant?

The children of Yisra'ĕl left Egypt after the Passover observance and after midnight (when the Angel of Death came) but possibly before sunrise because the Pharoah called for Moses and Aaron on the same night but after the angel of death had come and gone. (Exodus 12:31)

If the children of Yisra'ĕl went out from Egypt that 'selfsame day', then the daylight period of Passover day had to of occurred AFTER the dark hours of Passover.

Numbers 33:3 states that the children of Yisra'ĕl left Rameses on the 15th day of the 1st month on the day AFTER Passover. This would make sense as it would take that long to drive herd animals to the border of Egypt.

Exodus 12:42

"42It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations." (KJV)

This is a very important NIGHT.

Exodus Chapter 13

Exodus 13:2

"2Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine." (KJV)

Sanctify all the firstborn to YHWH, both man and beast.

Exodus 13:3

"3And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten." (KJV)

Remember the day YHWH brought us out of the land of Mitsrayim and eat no leavened bread.
Was this the day after the Passover?

Exodus 13:4

"4This day came ye out in the month Abib" (KJV)

The month when Passover and Unleavened bread occurs is called Abib.

Exodus 13:5

"5And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month." (KJV)

You will keep this service when you get to the promised land.

Does this mean they didn't have to keep the service while they were wondering in the desert?

Exodus 13:8-9

"8And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt." (KJV)

You will teach your children the meaning of this feast.

"9And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt." (KJV)

"A sign upon their hand", I think there is some symbolizm of the day and time attached to this statement.

Exodus 13:12

"12That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD's." (KJV)

You will set apart your firstborn (man and beast) when you get to the promised land.

Exodus 13:18

"18But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt." (KJV)

Exodus Chapter 14

Exodus 14:21

"21And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided." (KJV)

YHWH parts the sea.

Exodus 14:22

"22And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left." (KJV)

The ground was dry.
The waters were a wall on the right and on the left.

Exodus 14:25

"25And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians." (KJV)

YHWH knocked the wheels off their chariots.

Exodus 14:29

"29But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left." (KJV)

The ground was dry.
The waters were a wall on the right and on the left.

Exodus Chapter 15

Exodus 15:4

"4Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea." (KJV)

Red Sea/Sea of Reeds

Exodus 15:6

"6Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy." (KJV)

Who is the right hand of the YHWH? It is Yahushua.

Exodus 15:14

14The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.(KJV)

A reference to Palestine. So much for the Israeli claim that Palestine did not exist prior to 1948.

Exodus 15:17

"17Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which thy hands have established." (KJV)

Where is this place? Neither the tabernacle nor the temple have been built at this time.

Exodus 15:20

"20And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances." (KJV)

Miriam, the sister of Aaron was a prophetess.
Interesting that the Scriptures don't say she was the sister of Aaron and Moses.

Exodus 15:25

"25And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them," (KJV)

What are the statutes and ordinances he gave?

Exodus 15:27

"27And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters." (KJV)

Exodus Chapter 16

Exodus 16:1

The children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl come into the Wilderness of Sin which is between Elim/Ĕlim and Sinai/Sina/Sinai.

Exodus 16:2-3

The whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness because they had no food.

Exodus 16:4-7

Moses tells the children of Israel he will make bread rain from heaven and that they are to gather only a days portion each day in order to test them and see if they will walk in HIS Torah or not.

This is a reference to a Torah being in existance before the Torah was given on Mount Sinai in Exodus 20:1-17.

Exodus 16:4

"4Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no." (KJV)

This is a reference to a Torah in existance before the Torah that was given on Mount Sinai (Exodus 20:1-17).

Exodus 16:5

"5And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily." (KJV)

This sets the pace for the Sabbath. On the sixth day, there will be twice as much so they don't have to gather on the seventh day.

Exodus 16:10-12

YHWH appears to Moses.

Exodus 16:10-13

Quails appear in the evening.

Exodus 16:10-14

Manna appears in the morning.

Exodus 16:15

"15And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat." (KJV)

manna/manna - what is it?

Exodus 16:19

Moses commands the people not to leave any manna until the morning.

Exodus 16:20

"20Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them." (KJV)

Some of the people tried to keep the manna overnight an it rotted.

They didn't listen and obey.

Exodus 16:21

In the day, the sun melted the manna.

Exodus 16:22

"22And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses." (KJV)

On the sixth (6th) day, twice as much manna was collected.

The rulers answered to Moses/Mosheh.

Exodus 16:23

"23And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning." (KJV)

The cooking restriction is outlined.

In this verse Mosheh is instructing the people to cook and heat what is needed and what is left over is to be used on the Sabbath.

Exodus 16:25

On the sabbath, no manna appeared.

Exodus 16:28-30

YHWH details a sabbath restriction.

Exodus 16:28

"28And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?" (KJV)

What commandments and laws is HE referring to?

Exodus 16:29

This verse speaks about laws and statures that were known by Moses/Mosheh BEFORE the Ten Commandments were given to him on Mount Sinai!

Grammatically, this verse speaks of the laws and statutes as if they are two distinct (yet related) terms.

YHWH tells Moses/Mosheh about the covenant and tells him he will make the people a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.
This is YHWH's purpose for the children of Israel. Verses 5 & 6 constitute the marriage offer made at Mount Sinai.

Numbers 8:19 YHWH chose the line of Levi from among the nation of Israel to be his priests. I think this is because the sin of the golden calf was an act of adultery and disqualified all the tribes that participated in the act.

It would appear that having sex with a woman makes you ceremonially unclean.

How many days from the first ULB to the giving of Torah

Exodus 16 1 And they pulled up stakes from Elim. And all the congregation of the sons of Israel came into the Wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their going out from the land of Egypt.

ULB is on 15th of Aviv if they entered wilderness on 15th day of the second month it would be 30 days later. But if it was the second month after leaving it would be 60 days.

Exodus 19 1 In the third month of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, on this day they came to the wilderness of Sinai. 9 And YAHWEH said to Moses, Behold, I come to you in a darkness of clouds, so that the people may hear My speaking with you, and in you they may believe forever. And Moses told the words of the people to YAHWEH. 10 And YAHWEH said to Moses, Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow. If this is the third month of the year and “on this day” means the day they left it would be sixty days. If it is the first day of the third month it would be approximately 46 days.

Equals = 46

This is assuming each of the first two months had 30 days not 29 as sometimes happens.

Then add three more days for the Israelites to sanctify themselves and you get 49 days.

If you assume that the events of Exo. 19:9-11 took a whole day then we get 50 days from the first day of ULB to the giving of Torah. If the first day ULB fell on a weekly Sabbath then the giving of torah would coincide with the feast of weeks or Shavout which becomes Pentecost. This would mean Torah was given at the same time of the year as the Ruach haKodesh was given to the disciples.

This document is full many assumptions and should not be considered an absolute.

The count could just as easily be :

If Exodus 19:1 means the third month after leaving this would be 90 days approximately, plus the three days to sanctify themselves, and the day to set up camp and for Moses to get the instructions from YHWH. This would give you a count of 94 days.

I believe this is the morning and evening oblation. It consists of a burnt meat offering and a drink offering.

Exodus Chapter 30

Exodus 30:1-10

YHWH details the building of the incense altar.

Exodus 30:6

"6And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee." (KJV)

The mercy seat is over the testimony.

Exodus 30:10

"10And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD." (KJV)

YHWH details the census and the ransom all the children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl will pay.

The holy anointing oil is NOT to be used on man's flesh.

Exodus Chapter 31

Exodus 31:13

'13Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.' (KJV)

A sign between the children of Israel and YHWH forever.
It is also a commandment at this point. The 4th commandment.

Exodus 31:16

'16Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.' (KJV)

'...throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.' This seems pretty clear.

Exodus 31:17

'17It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.' (KJV)

The weekly Sabbath is to be a sign between the children of Israel and YHWH for ever.

Exodus 31:18

'18And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.' (KJV)

Exodus Chapter 32

Exodus 32:5

"And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD." (KJV)

Even though the people thought this was an acceptable act, YHWH thought otherwise. So much for the "that's not what it means to me" defense.

What feast was this?

Exodus 32:10

"10Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation." (KJV)

YHWH was going to kill them all and start over with Moses/Mosheh

Exodus 32:13

"13Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever." (KJV)

YHWH is ready to destroy the Hebrews for worshipping a golden calf and Moses/Mosheh is reminding HIM of the promise he made to Abraham/Abrahim.

Exodus 32:15

"15And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written." (KJV)

The tablets were written on both sides.

Exodus 32:19

"19And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount." (KJV)

Moses destroys this covenant because of the sin of the golden calf.

Exodus 32:20

"20And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it." (KJV)

How do you grind gold into powder?

Exodus 32:26

"26Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him." (KJV)

The Levitical priesthood is going to be added to the law because of the sin of the golden calf.

Exodus 32:28

"28And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men." (KJV)

Three thousand (3,000) men were killed.

Exodus 32:32

"32Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written." (KJV)

Is he referring to the book of life?

Exodus 32:34

"34Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them." (KJV)

Is this End of Days prophecy?

YHWH speaks to Moses/Mosheh face to face.

Exodus 33:1-4

As the Hebrews are preparing to enter the land of Canaan, YHWH tells Mosheh He is giving him the land He swore unto Abraham/Abrahim, Isaac/Yitshaq and Jacob/Ya'aqob

Exodus 33:2

2And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:

YHWH tells Moses that he will send and angel to guide them.

Exodus 33:3-6

YHWH tells Mosheh He is giving him an angel to go before the children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl because if HE went, HE would consume them.

Exodus 33:7

Mosheh names his tent, the tent of meeting.

Exodus 33:11

"11And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle." (KJV)

YHWH speaks to Moses/Mosheh face to face. This is interesting in that YHWH also says in verse 20 that no man may see my face and live. This seems to indicate that the entity speaking to Moses/Mosheh is YAHUSHUA the Messiah.

Exodus 33:20

"20And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live." (KJV)

YHWH says that no one can see HIS face and live yet, in verse 11, YHWH spoke to Moses/Mosheh face to face. This seems to indicate that the entity speaking to Moses/Mosheh is YAHUSHUA the Messiah.

Exodus Chapter 34

Exodus 34:1

1And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.

YHWH tells Mosheh to hew two tablets of stone like the first ones he broke. There were two sets of 10 commandments. I wonder if there was any difference between the 1st set and the 2nd. I think that it is likely they were different as before the 1st set YHWH intended all the children of Israel to be part of his priesthood and after the golden calf incident, only the tribe of Levi were to be part of the priesthood of YHWH.

Exodus 34:4

4And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.

Moses carves the second set of tablets for YHWH to write upon.

Exodus 34:5-6

5And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. (KJV)

6And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, (KJV)

Why would YHWH be talking about himself in the 3rd person? This makes better sense grammatically if it was YAHUSHUA proclaiming the name of YHWH and YAHUSHUA proclaiming the attributes of YHWH.

Exodus 34:10

'10And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.' (KJV)

YHWH announces to Moses/Mosheh that he is goig to make a covenant.

Exodus 34:11

'11Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.' (KJV)

YHWH announces to Moses/Mosheh which of the Canaanite tribes he is going to drive out.
I need to research this and see if these are the tribes that were driven out. The children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl didn't drive out all the Canaanite tribes as they had been commanded. I need to research this and see if this verse was prophetic.

Exodus 34:12

'12Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:' (KJV)

YHWH warns Moses/Mosheh not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land.

Exodus 34:13

'13But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:' (KJV)

YHWH warns Moses/Mosheh to destroy their altars, break their images and cut down their groves.
YHWH wanted to destroy their paganism.
This has to do with Asherah. This is allegedly the first time this Hebrew word appears in the Scripture and it was mistranslated to groves when it was actually referring to Asherah. See See Pagan Gods Keys:

Exodus 34:15

'15Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;' (KJV)

YHWH tells Moses/Mosheh not to make any molten gods.

Exodus 34:18

'18The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.' (KJV)

YHWH commands Moses/Mosheh to keep the feast of unleavened bread for seven days in the month of Abib.

Exodus 34:19-20

'19All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male.' (KJV)

'20But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.' (KJV)

YHWH tells Moses/Mosheh that all that opens the matrix is His.

Exodus 34:21

'21Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.' (KJV)

YHWH restates the weekly Sabbath instructions.

Exodus 34:22

'22And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.' (KJV)

YHWH commands us to keep Chag Shavuot (feast of weeks) and Chag HaSukkot (The Feast of Tabernacles).

Does Ex 34:22 refer to the end of the harvest when it uses the word tkufah? There is no ancient context that forces tkufah to mean a “point” of time defined by harvest in contrast to ancient contexts that show it to relate to heavenly bodies. This is simply a matter of finding contexts that bring out meaning that is clear. Incidentally, the three main crops harvested at that general time of the year are figs, olives, and grapes. Figs are a summer fruit, whose harvest hardly ever extends into the fall. The olive harvest occurs in September and October, and is over in most parts of Israel by about the third quarter of October. The grape harvest begins with sour grapes in July but with ripe grapes in some areas of Israel from the beginning of August. The grape harvest continues through about the first third of November in the area of Jerusalem. The uses of tkufah in the Dead Sea Scrolls show the meaning of a point in time. In contrast to this, the harvest of fleshy fruits in ancient Israel is widely spread out over time from mid-summer into almost late autumn. Thus the meaning of tkufah best includes the boundary points of the four seasons as well as the other meanings demonstrated above.

Exodus 34:23-24

'23Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the LORD God, the God of Israel.' (KJV)

'24For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year.' (KJV)

YHWH commands all males to appear before him three times a year.

Exodus 34:25

'25Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.' (KJV)

YHWH forbids the use of leaven in sacrifice and commands to have nothing left of the passover the next morning.

Exodus 34:26

'26The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.' (KJV)

YHWH commands us to bring the firstfruits of the land into the House of YAH. YHWH forbids us to cook a kid in it's mother's milk.

Exodus 34:27

'27And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.' (KJV)

YHWH commands Moses/Mosheh to write the commands down as a covenant.

Exodus 34:28

'28And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.' (KJV)

Moses/Mosheh YHWH for forty (40) days and forty (40) nights without food or water. Moses/Moshe wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Exodus 34:29-35

Moses/Mosheh skin shone after speaking with YHWH. Moses/Mosheh wears a veil on his face when he is not speaking with the people or YHWH.

Exodus Chapter 35

Exodus 35:2-3

2Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. (KJV)

The 4th commandment.

3Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day. (KJV)

Kindle means to start. Can we keep a fire going if it has already been started?

YHWH instructs Moses/Mosheh to set up the tabernacle on the 1st day of the 1st month.

Exodus 40:3-15

YHWH gives Moses/Mosheh instructions for setting up the tabernacle and clothing Aaron/Aharon, the high priest.

Exodus 40:16-33

Moses/Mosheh sets up the tabernacle and clothes Aaron/Aharon, the high priest.

Exodus 40:17

And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.(KJV)

The temple raised on the 1st day of the 1st month in the 2nd year.

Exodus 40:20

20And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:(KJV)

The arc of the covenant contains the testimony.

Exodus 40:34

A cloud came and the glory of YHWH filled the tabernacle.

Exodus 40:35

Moses/Mosheh was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation as the cloud was there and the glory of YHWH filled the tabernacle.

Exodus 40:36-37

When the cloud was taken up, the children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl traveled. When the cloud was not taken up, the children of Israel/Yisr'ĕl did not travel.

Exodus 40:38

There was a cloud of YHWH on the tabernacle by day and a fire by night.
