Hebrews 4:9

The word 'rest' was substituted with the word 'Sabbath'. The Greek word is 'sabattismos', meaning 'Sabbath-keeping'.

The Messiah came from the line of Judah. The Levitical priesthood comes from the line of Aaron/Levi.

5535 Strong,s Greek # 2909; kreitton meaning “more advantageous,” or “more useful,” as opposed to strictly “better.”

5536 Strong,s Greek # 3549; nomotheteo translated as established in most translations, is better translated as “to enact law,” or “sanction by law,” meaning the Renewed Covenant is established by virtue of the fact that it is given as The Torah renewed in us.

5537 The Torah and First Covenant were not the problem. The problem as clearly stated here was with them. The next verse qualifies the “them.”

5538 Both houses had faults, causing the need for a new priesthood, a new sacrifice, and a Renewed Covenant. According to this promise quoted from Jeremiah 31:31, there are no gentiles in the Renewed Covenant, as it was cut exclusively with Yisrael's two houses. Those two houses are Jews and Efrayimites, not Jews and gentiles. Of course, non-biological Yisraelites also join as the chaverim/ friends of Yisrael (Ezekiel 37:16-17).

5539 Note also that Paul, or Barnabas (the author of Hebrews) in his era also considered Yisrael divided and Efrayim as being still assimilated in the nations. This reference here alone fully and totally refutes any fictitious claims that the two houses reunited 525 years before Paul, or Barnabas wrote Hebrews, during the return of Judah from Babylon.

5540 An anti-missionary favorite. The text was changed from “though I was a husband to them,” to “I disregarded them.”  The reason for the change is that this paraphrase is not meant to be an exact quote.  Rather it is a paraphrase to show that only one generation of Yisrael was discarded, not the whole nation.  That is, the one-generation that died in the wilderness was discarded, without the entire nation being discarded.  The point is that those who don,t enter the Renewed Covenant will be discarded like those in the wilderness, and not that all Yisraelites will be replaced by a gentile church.  Therefore this is not a text that teaches that the church is the “New Yisrael,” or that the Jews have been discarded.

5543 The added word “covenant” in most translations, does not appear in any Greek, or Aramaic texts.  The topic for these chapters is the passing of the prior priesthood, to the new order of Melech-Tzadik, and not of the doing away with the Torah, in favor of a new covenant.
5544 The first thing to grasp is that the topic through these chapters is the priesthood. So what is about to grow old and pass away is the priesthood that then ministered in the Temple.  Not the Torah itself.  Even the language bears this out, as the term “near disappearing” means that the Temple had not yet been destroyed, and therefore the Levitical priesthood was still functional despite Yahshua's role as the High Priest in the order of Melech-Tzadik.  In essence then, this is a prophesy of the Temple,s imminent destruction, along with all its altars, priesthood and functions, that will soon be gone, or altered.

Hebrews 11:1

3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.(KJV)

We have generally understood this verse to mean that the material creation, which we can clearly see, was produced from invisible spirit. It is certainly a possible meaning, but it is probably not its primary one. In his book, Great Cloud of Witnesses (pp. 12-14), E. W. Bullinger provides an alternative that appears more accurate and fitting within the context of Hebrews 11.

The word "worlds" is translated from the Greek aion, meaning "age," in the sense of a period of time or a dispensation. It derives from a root that means "continued," and it is used as "world" only when "world" gives a better sense of a period of time, not the physical creation. It could be used if one said "the world that then was" or "the world to come."

"Framed" also appears in Hebrews 10:5, where it is more clearly and accurately translated "prepared." It means "to complete thoroughly," "to rule" (even "overrule"), or "to order" (by God in this case). "Word" is not logos but rhema, meaning "revealed words." Finally, "made" is ginomai, which means "to generate," "to cause to be," "to happen," or "to come to pass." It is not the word normally used to indicate God is creating.

Using these definitions, we could translate the verse as, "By faith we perceive by the revealed words of God that the ages were prepared, so that the things we see come to pass not from things that appear." Those of us who walk by faith know that a great Unseen Hand guides, indeed overrules, events on this earth. This verse means that the historical events we read of in God's Word were not chance occurrences, but God was working behind the scenes to bring His purpose to the conclusion He has foreordained. In short, it says, "God controls the march of history." The great men and women listed in Hebrews 11 lived their lives firmly knowing this truth. That is why they could live in faith.

'Them that rule over you' are supposed to be the ones who have taught you the word of Elohim.  This verse does NOT seem to be talking about man made elected officials but rather Levites and annointed ones.

Hebrews 13:8

Shadrach/Shadrak, Meshach/Mĕyshak, Abednego/Abed-nego/Abĕd Nego and Daniel/Dani'ĕl all disobeyed the king when he was told to do something wrong.  The churches like to use this verse to make people submit to their evil.  The reference from the book of Daniel chapters 3 & 6 offer proof that we are NOT to obey evil.

I need to find the reference (in ACTS?) where the disciples said we should follow YHWH and NOT men.
