Job Chapter 1
Satan's request of God
Job 1:1
1There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. (KJV)
Here Job is described as:
- A man.
- Perfect.

Job 1:8
8And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? (KJV)
Here Job is described as:
- A man.
- Perfect.
Job 1:14-22
These things happened to Job:
- The Sabeans stole his oxen and asses and then killed all Job's servants.
- A fire burned up his sheep and servants.
- The Chaldeans stole Job's camels and killed his servants.
- A great wind collapsed the house Job's sons and daughters were in, killing them all.
Yet Job did not lose his faith nor did he blame YHWH.
Job Chapter 2
Satan's request of God
Job 2:3
3And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. (KJV)
Here YHWH describes Job is described as:
A man.
Perfect.
Job 2:9
9Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. (KJV)
Obviously, Job/Iyob/Yob's wife was not speaking according to inspiration here, and we cannot use this for doctrine.
A clear case of a good BAD example.

The speech of Eliphaz
Job 4:3-4
3Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
4Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees. (KJV)
I think this is one of our purposes in life. To help those in need and to (properly) instruct those who are lost.
Job 4:18
18Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: (KJV)
This is an interesting statement. Even though it is only the opinion of Eliphaz, if true, it means that the imperfect can be around YHWH. This would seem to be supported by the fact that Sa-tan fell from grace and was cast out of heaven.

Job 11:20
20But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost. (KJV)
It seems that even in the days of Job, people believed that a spirit was what gave life to the body.
