INTRODUCTION:

The purpose of this page is to provide Scriptural references which show how church doctrine often contradicts the word of God Almighty. Therefore when a religous person tries to push their dogma claiming that they 'follow the scriptures', one can calmly show them where they do not.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:

34'Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.'

35'And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.'

This should quite over half the congregation.

9'In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;'

This can be brought to the attention of both the women dressed this way and the men that desire them to be that way.

11'Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.'

12'But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.'

This seems pretty clear.

16'All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:'

This was referring to the Tenakh (Old Testament).

Refer to 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 , 1 Timothy 2:9 , 1 Timothy 2:11-12 , 1 Peter 3:5

1'Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;'

2'While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.'

3'Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;'

4'But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.'

5'For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:'
