What are these statutes/laws/Torot and where did Moses/Mosheh learn them? This verse is chronologically before the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai.

6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (KJV)

18Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety. (KJV)

15One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD. (KJV)

16One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you. (KJV)

2'Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.' (KJV)

13And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

18Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.(KJV)

19And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.(KJV)

20And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:(KJV)

4'Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.'

32What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. (KJV)

15But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: (KJV)

If we do not keep HIS commandments and statutes, then all the curses will come upon us.

1These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.(KJV)

These commands are in addition to the original 10 commandments given at Mount Horeb.

9Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.(KJV)

Keep YHWH's commands so you will prosper in all that you do.

3And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:(KJV)

4That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.(KJV)

58That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.(KJV)

Commandments, statutes & judgements

61Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.(KJV)

Commandments & statutes

4And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

5Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel. And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

6But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

7Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

8And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?

9And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil. (KJV)

This is a conditional promise and HE tells what HE will do if it the conditions are not met.

11Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.(KJV)

There are penalties for disobedience.

This was done to stop the lions from attacking.

34'Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;' (KJV)

If the Torah is only for the Hebrew people, why is it mentioned here in relation to the Gentiles living in the land.

41'So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.' (KJV)

If the Torah is only for the Hebrew people, why is it mentioned here in relation to the Gentiles living in the land.

13'Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.' (KJV)

4For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;'

5Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.'

6Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;'

7Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.'

4And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

5We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: (KJV)

6'For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.' (KJV)

YHWH does NOT change.
YHWH's commands cannot change.

4'Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.' (KJV)

7'The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.' (KJV)

8'The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.' (KJV)

YHWH's Torah is perfect.

17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;(KJV)

18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.(KJV)

5O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!(KJV)

18'Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.'

19'Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.'

Keep the commandments.
The Messiah is telling us to keep the commandments.

36'Master, which is the great commandment in the law?'

37'Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.'

38'This is the first and great commandment.'

39'And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.'

40'On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.'

20'But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:'

7'Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.'

8'For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.'

9'And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.'

13'Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.'

18'And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.'

19'Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.'

29'And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:'

30'And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.'

31'And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.'

4'And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'

Deuteronomy 8:3

'And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.'

16'The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.'

17'And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.'

18'Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.'

19'And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.' (KJV)

20'Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.' (KJV)

56'And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.' (KJV)

Here, the Sabbath is being celebrated after Christ's death.

50'And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.' (KJV)

15If ye love me, keep my commandments. (KJV)

Keep HIS commandments if we love HIM.
The Messiah is telling us to keep the commandments if we love HIM.

10'If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.' (KJV)

13'And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:' (KJV)

14'For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.' (KJV)

If someone believes that the law, the temple and the altar sacrifices have been done away with, they believe in the testimony of the FALSE WITNESSES at Stephen’s so called trial. Does your doctrine agree with these false witnesses? If Stephen believes in Torah these people are false witnesses, if he believed like mainstream Christianity, he believed in the testimony of the FALSE WITNESSES. HOW CAN THEY BE FALSE WITNESSES when they claim Jesus said to change with the law, the altar sacrifices and the temple?

14'But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:' (KJV)

Isn't Paul saying here that the TeNaKh is still relevant?

4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? (KJV)

People who wilfully sin have fallen from grace.

12'Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. (KJV)'

9For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.s(KJV)

Commandments 7, 6, 8, 9, 10 of the ten commandments.

3'And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.'

4'He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.'

4"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." (KJV)

22'And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.'

23'And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.'

24'And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.'

2 'By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.'

3 'For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.'

17'And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.'

12'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.'

Jude 1:3

14"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." (KJV)

Doing the commandments bring us blessings and give us the right to the tree of life and allow us to enter through the gates into the city.

Following the commandments bless us and give us the right to the tree of life.

The Two Greatest Commandments

The Messiah spoke of the two GREATEST commandments, NOT the two ONLY commandments.

18'Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.' (KJV)

The 2nd greatest

5'And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.' (KJV)

Matthew 22:37
Mark 12:30
Luke 10:27

The 1st greatest

37'Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.' (KJV)

38'This is the first and great commandment.' (KJV)

39'And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.' (KJV)

28'And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?' (KJV)

29'And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: ' (KJV)

30'And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. ' (KJV)

31'And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. ' (KJV)

Leviticus 19:18

25'And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?' (KJV)

26'He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? ' (KJV)

27'And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.' (KJV)

28'And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. ' (KJV)

Where are the Ten Commandments in the Old and New Testaments?

First Commandment

Old Testament:

"You shall have no other gods before Me." (Exodus 20:3)

New Testament:

"You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve." (Matthew 4:10; 1Corinthians 8:6).

Second Commandment

Old Testament:

"You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments." (Exodus 20:4-6)

New Testament:

"Little children, keep yourselves from idols. " (1John 5:21).

In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." (Exodus 20:8-11)

New Testament:

" . . . The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath." (Mark 2:27-28)

"For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: 'And God rested on the seventh day from all His works' . . . For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His." (Hebrews 4:4, 10)

"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, . . . " (Colossians 1:16).

New Testament:

" . . . For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, 'You shall not covet.' "(Romans 7:7).
