INTRODUCTION:

The purpose of this page is to show with Scriptural references, the true meaning of the phrase "provoked to jealousy".  After doing some Scriptural research, it appears to me that the phrase does not relate to provoking envy but rather it means to provoke an angry response.

I am also using this page to document an etimolgy of the word 'jealous/jealousy' as I do not believe it has the same meaning as the modern definition.
