INDEX:
Introduction:
The purpose of this page is to document the meaning of the various New Testament parables. I find it curious that the book of John does not have the parables in it?
The Parables of YAHSHUA
The Lamp on a Stand
16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
22For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
17For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

The Divided Kingdom
The Sower
10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
18Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. (KJV)
The Wheat & The Tares
The words of the Messiah seem to contridict the Christian belief that they will be 'raptured up' in the air when Christ returns and will not have to suffer through the tribulation. According to YAHSHUA, it is the tares that will be plucked out first and burned.

The Mustard Seed
The Leaven
33Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. (KJV)

The Pearl
The Fish Net
The House Holder
The Lost Sheep
The Unforgiving Servant
The Workers in the Vineyard
9Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
14But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
Something doesn't make sense in this verse. Why would killing the heir, allow them to receive the inheritance?
The Two Sons
The Wicked Tenants
The Wedding Banquet
Many are called but few are chosen.
The Sign of the Fig Tree
32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (KJV)
29And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. (KJV)
