INTRODUCTION:

The purpose of this page is to document YHWH's and YAHUSHA's words concerning peace and war.

I had heard a speaker say, 'YHWH hates war'. I wanted to see if there is Scriptural evidence to support this statement. As I started compiling various Scripture references with regard to the topic, it seems that while HIS goal is peace, YHWH uses men of war to accomplish HIS will.

The men of war, among the children of Israel were kept from entering the promised land.

King David appears to have been in favor with YHWH yet he was kept from building the temple because he was a man of war with blood on his hands.

Scripture tells us that when the Messiah returns, we will no longer learn about war. (Isaiah 2:4, Micah 4:3)

It would seem that the need for war (if their is one) will end some day.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:

6'Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.'

2'And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.' (KJV)

Micah 4:3

6For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.(KJV)

17"And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever." (KJV)

2"For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter." (KJV)

20"Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD." (KJV)

9"And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:" (KJV)

10"So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD." (KJV)

3'And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.' (KJV)

Isaiah 2:4

No more war!

9'Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:'

10'And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.'

11'But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.'

12'Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.'

So much for being a peace loving people.  How does this compare with the Christian claim that the Muslim religion is not peaceful?
