Scriptures Pertinent to Modern Times

²⁸'Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.' (KJV)

³⁴'Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;' (KJV)

⁴¹'So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.' (KJV)

¹⁵'And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. '

¹⁶'Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;'

¹⁷'Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.'

Micah 6:8

Isaiah is not speaking well of Jerusalem.

²³'Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. '

²⁸'And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed. '

²²'There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.'

²²'There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.'

³'For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.'

⁴'None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.'

⁷'Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.'

⁸'The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.'

⁹'Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.'

¹⁹'So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.'

⁶'If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: '

⁷'Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. '

Sounds conditional to me. Especially the part about not shedding innocent blood.

²'Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. '

³'For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. '

⁴'They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. '

⁵'They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. '

¹⁷'But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.'

¹⁷'Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken. '

¹⁹'O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. ' (KJV)

 This entire chapter has pertinent information in it.

³'Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.'

⁴'For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.'

⁵'But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.'

This chapter details the covenant with the two houses of Israel and the reunification of the two houses.  The story of the dry bones is told here.

²³'But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. '

¹⁴'Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? '

¹⁵'And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? '

¹⁶'And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. '

¹⁷'Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.'

¹³'For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. '

¹⁴'And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. '

¹⁵'Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. '

⁹'But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.'

¹⁷'Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;'

¹⁸'That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;'

¹⁹'Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.'

¹²'Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.'
