SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:

10'And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,'

11'When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.'

12'Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:'

13'And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.'

14'At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.'

20'Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.'

This sounds a bit like the night of passover.'

6'Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7'Be not ye therefore partakers with them.'

11'And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.'

17'Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.'

8'Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.'

8'Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.'

20'Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,'

2'Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.'

3'Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.'

10'But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. '

10'Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,'
