INTRODUCTION:

The purpose of this page is to investigate the Islamaphobic trend so prevalent in America today.

Alleged Quran Doctrine Meme.
A meme that was posted alleging to be doctrine of the Quran.

REBUTTAL:

"He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him." - Proverbs 18:17 (KJV)

"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." - Mark Twain

I saw the following meme reposted on Facebook and decided to see if it was accurate. I admit that my curiosity was piqued because I had been reading the Qur'an and had yet to come across anything even close to what was posted on this meme. Additionally, this meme had references, a feature not present in most Islamaphobic media.

What I discovered was shocking. This meme cites passages which are not what is written in the Qur'an! Since I was only a third of the way through my reading of the Qur'an (at the time) I actually thought I would find some verses advocating violence in certain cases but was surprised to find no more than what is written the Christian and Jewish bibles and was actually stunned to see how inaccurate this meme is!

I invite anyone to take a few minutes and look up ANY of the cited references and see for yourself whether this meme is even remotely accurate. Since there is only one reference cited that is even marginally close to what the author is claiming, it will not take anyone very long to verify that this meme is laden with false allegations. Mark Twain was right, it took me far more time to prove this meme was false than it will take others to repost it. I'm highly confident that in that time many allegedly God fearing Christians and Jews will have posted and spread more garbage like this meme. While I certainly cannot disprove every lie haSatan spreads via we humans, this one moved me to do the research and post what I found.

I began with a hard copy version and a couple of electronic versions so I could be reasonably sure I would, at least, have the general gist of what was written and was not relying solely on a single (possibly flawed) translation. After researching the first alleged doctrine, I decided to reference this post with only the hard copy reference I am using. Listed at the bottom of this post are links to electronic versions of the Qur'an if you would care to verify any of this meme for yourself. One of these references I got from a discussion post on the original author's wall! While most of these people were spewing out all kinds of hate filled, accusatory speech, if ANY of them had even taken just a few minutes to check out even ONE of the alleged dogmas (using the very sources they were citing) they would have seen the total fallacy of this meme.

The last time I checked, the 9th commandment of God Almighty is STILL:

"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour." (Exodus 20:16)

I submit that ANYONE who has posted or reposted this meme with anything other than total condemnation is guilty of violating this commandment.

It is also written in the book of Matthew, chapter 12, verse 36:

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."

If we are to be judged for every idle word, how much harsher will be the judgement for deliberate, false accusations? While anyone can be guilty of being inaccurate or gossiping or even mildly slanderous, the tenants of this meme are completely hate filled, accusatory, and inflammatory to their very core. I pray that in the future everyone, and ESPECIALLY believers, will take the time to verify something as obviously hate and fear filled as this meme BEFORE they post or repost it.
